Butterfly Release Wording PLEASE HELP?
«
on:
September 02, 2009, 08:00:37 PM »
Hi all,
I am having a butterfly release at my wedding, as that is the theme but I cant find wording that i like to go with it. Ive found the american indian belief one and a few poems, but Im looking for something along the lines of how butterflies are a beautiful new beginning to our lives etc. I want something to explain why we are releasing them. Does anyone know of anything and does this make sense?
Thanks Christie

I did a quick google search but could only find the indian version as well. Does your celebrant know of any, or maybe even the people who supply the butterflies?

Hi,
yeah my celebrant gave me the indian one and so does all the butterfly release places. They all have little verses and poems, but not quite what I want. I cant really come up with something im happy with to explain it. I love butterflies, how beautiful and free they are and how hey always make me feel happy and at peace, but like i said i want to talk about how settin them free is a new beginning for us. But I cant quite put it in words. Thanks guys

hmmm I'm thinking a custom poem is needed.. just found these two and thinking maybe we can incorporate bits of pieces from various ones so you have one that is perfect for you. i cant think at the moment but will try and come up with something for you.... i really like some of the lines from the first one and the second one is really nice as well (ive bolded the bits i like) .. just need to personalise it for you :)
with the ones that you have found so far are there any parts you like and want to use?? maybe post them here so we have some more ideas on what you want exactly
Today, we release a butterfly
as a symbol of new beginning and life.
We celebrate the
resurrection
and rejoice in the wonder, and reconnection.
As it glides away on the Autumn breeze,
and flutters among the wind-blown leaves,
and stops to rest on a flower or two,
and takes a drink of the morning dew,
we remember that there is nothing too small
that our faith in Christ should ever stall.
---
May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun
And find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
Today, tomorrow and beyond.

I like th parts I highlighted in the first poem and the 2nd one, but id have to change it to spring breeze. But Ive also seen a peom about how
a butterfly is like love, it goes where it pleases and pleases wherever it goes.

I do like this one my celebrant found. What do you's think?
This ceremony goes after the bride and groom kiss.
Today we Celebrate Love in a very special way with the release of butterflies to signify a new beginning for ________ and ________.
The butterfly symbolizes new beginnings, freedom and happiness. For just a moment, think silently of what you would wish for ________ and ________.
As we set these butterflies free we trust that all our wishes for _____________ and _____________ will be granted.
The butterflies will now be released to carry forth the good news of your promise of love and commitment for each other.
The following reading can be read as the butterflies are released.
Learn to Fly
Written by Larry James
Like a butterfly emerges
And unfolds its graceful wings,
A marriage grows and it develops
With the love each partner brings.
Your flight through life together
Is what you make it, so reach high
Spread your wings and learn to soar
As if with wings of a butterfly
Share together life's great adventure
Now the two of you are one
Shower your lover with butterfly kisses
Your infinite journey has just begun
Be a lover, friend and playmate
Learn to listen, laugh and cry
God has given you your wings,
But, you teach each other how to fly.
