Or you could maybe check out the national parks and see what gorgeous locations you could find in there! Also maybe check out to see if any private residences have something you could use, we had a garden wedding at a private residence, we got the whole place very cheap and it was a beautiful location!

I'm from Townsville!

If i was doing a garden wedding, i'd so do the Palmetum (i'm not sure how you spell that).  someone suggested that to me as a place to take photos.  I think there is information about using it for weddings on the council website.  I will have a look, see if i can find it.

I think Queens Gardens would also be nice

Is this topic still open?

For any others in Townsville (and this is only my personal opinions), I got married at Seagulls Resort.. there was a lot of beautiful places for photos. As well as being so close to the beach.. my absolute favourite photos came from a quick dash to the blue bridge as we lost too much time to actually get to the beach..

The palmetum is nice, but also the Dan Gleeson gardens is STUNNING! (though, take mozzie repellant to pretty much ALL of the nice places!!) The strand is very common, but can be TOO common - and some people don't care if its your wedding shots, they will carry on their merry way - not to mention the random not-so-pleasant comments that some yokels actually holler out!!

Castle hill has its spots that have beautiful scenic views... Umm. Pallarenda is pretty popular also.
Queens gardens - very beautiful - once again, very common, and TAKE MOZZIE REPELLANT!!!

Another thing, REALLY do your research into the photographer you choose!!! PLEASE!!
The day is over so fast but these photographs will forever remind you of every detail that mattered enough to be planned!!
There are so many people who snap a few good shots then deem themselves a professional!!
It would be VERY advisable to check WOMF and make phone calls.. ask around.. also, consider going through the uni students nearing the end of their photography course!! they're not qualified, so really you have the option to get a bargain - just be sure to come to a fair and reasonable price!!

I went with having a friend do our photos.. i just could not afford a proffessional.. But that was my choice!!

There are also other small parks and playgrounds to look at as well in some areas of town some of the fields and parks have been cleaned up a bit
